Converse partnered with Artists For Humanity (AFH) for their End of Summer Art Exhibition, to sell a series of limited edition Chuck Taylor's designed by AFH teens. For this project, my main role was to oversee the concept direction for the teens to explore. The concept of the designs spoke to the commonalities between AFH and Converse such as the location, diversity, culture, individuality, art, and design.
The starting point for the designs were to look at the physical path between the two buildings in an abstract map or journey. Symbolizing the trajectory between the teen employees to the opportunity to work at Converse who shares the same values as AFH. As the design progressed I managed and mentored the teens in pushing their ideas to fruition and guiding them through the production phase. The results were applauded by the Converse team. Each teen selected to have their sneaker chosen felt confident in their ability to express themselves in their design.
