Artists For Humanity (AFH) website redesign goal was to tell the organization's story to the public. The new site required starting from scratch. Initially conducting research on how current supporters used the old website and what they felt were the most important factors for them when visiting the site. The research resulted in the creation of five personas drove the decision making for how the website would function.
When designing the site, I took the chance to also update the look and feel of AFH's existing brand to match the story being told to supporters, clients, and donors. The emphasize on the site was to have the teen employees front and center, as they are the mission of the organization. This was a stark difference from the old site. The old site led visitors thinking the program was an after school arts program. The new approach made the organization more personable, user friendly, and informed visitors of the power of the organization.
